Chris grew up in small country towns in New South Wales, Australia. She was born in Tumbarumba, a place known in the traditional languages as 'mother earth is talking' and 'place of large trees’. As a young girl, this is where her love for nature began. Her family is creative and loves art, poetry, and music.
During high school, Chris enjoyed art, textiles and design, and she was trained as a desktop publisher early in her career. In 2020, Chris rediscovered her love for drawing and art through nature journaling and is studying for a Diploma of Visual Arts at CQUniversity TAFE Rockhampton in 2024.
Chris is an active member of the Friends of the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens Botanical Art Group and has participated in the group’s community exhibits.
Chris’s art explores the wonder that nature can offer. Whether it's an expression or feeling, or shape and patterns, all these things are something Chris observes in everyday life. The materials she explores are watercolour, soluble graphite and pen and ink.
